Mandawa Tours

MandawaMandawa town is located 23 kms. East of Fathepur. Mandawa is a small town and is famous for the 18th century fort, which has now been converted into a luxury heritage hotel - "Mukundgarh Fort Heritage Hotel". Legends of Lord Krishna are rather artistically depicted on the parapets.

Other interesting places to visit in Mandawa are the ethnic Haveli of Jhun Jhunwala, the Kanoria Haveli and of course the Ganeriwala Haveli all of which are impressive and reflect the rich art and craftsmanship of Rajasthan. The main bazaar at Mandawa is choc-a-bloc with shops and ideal for souvenir hunting. Mandawa's brass works and textile articles are very famous.

There is also a fort in the center of the town. Thakur Nawal Singh built this fort and in the western side of the fort is the Goenka Havi. Adjacent to Goenka Havi is the exquisitely designed Nandalal Murmuriya Haveli which is renowned for its sculptures. The Thakurji Dedraj Tarmal, Ladiya Haveli, Neowatia, Laduram, Chokhani are all renowned for their colorul frescoes. There is also the Harlalka Baoli, the cemetry and Shiv Mandir which is conspicuous with its crystal linga.


Mandawa Sightseeing :-

Mandawa fort :- The fort of Mandawa was founded in the 18th century. Thakur Nawal Singh, son of Shardul Singh, founded the fort in vikram samvat 1812 (1755 AD). The fort dominates the town with a painted arched gateway adorned with Lord Krishna and his cows.

Havelis :- This town has been referred to as the "open art gallery" of Rajasthan because the entire Shekhawati region and not just Mandawa is dotted with fascinating mansions(havelis) that have lavishly painted walls. Famous Havelis are Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Murmuria Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, The Binsidhar Newatia Haveli, Lakshminarayan Ladia Haveli and Chokhani Double Haveli.

Parsurampura:- Parsurampura It is located some 43 km south east of Mandawa and has the distinction of having the best-preserved and oldest paintings in the Shekhawati region.

Fatehpur :- Fatehpur This was established in 1451 as a capital for Muslim nawabs but was taken by the Shekhawat Rajputs in the 18th century. Some of the attractions include the Mahavir Prasad Goenka Haveli, Gauri Shankar Haveli, Nand Lal Devra Haveli, and Harikrishnan Das Sarogi Haveli apart from a 17th century baoli.

 

Jhunjhunu :- Jhunjhunu This is the district headquarters and the largest town in the Shekhawati region. The town was founded by the Kaimkhani nawabs in the mid-15th century, and stayed under their control until it was taken by the Rajput ruler Sardul Singh in 1730. The major attractions in the city include the Khetri Mahal, Bihariji Temple, Modi Haveli, and Kaniram Narsinghdas Tiberwala Haveli.

Alsisar and Malsisar :- Alsisar and Malsisar Founded in the late and mid 18 th centuries respectively, these towns lie at northern edge of Shekhawati. The angular style of frescoes in various colours make the trip to these towns a memorable. Besides the fort in Alsisar, the jhunjunuwala havelis and well complex are other interesting structures. The fort, temples and havelis are worth visit.

Day 01: Arrival at Delhi

Day 02: At Delhi

At Delhi this day will begin with a delectable meal in the hotel and will be followed by a tour to the famous sightseeing attractions of the city. This city tour will first begin with a trip to the historical red sandstone edifice of Red Fort thereafter visit the nearby Jama Masjid which is the largest mosque in the country.

Later guests will visit the exquisite Humayun Tomb followed by a visit to India Gate, Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple. A drive past elegant government buildings in the evening will conclude the city tour and then return to the hotel for night stay in the city. 



Day 03: Delhi - Mandawa

On this day guests will relish a delectable meal in the morning and then will depart for Mandawa as previously planned under this Rajasthan tour. At Mandawa our representative will welcome you in typical Rajasthani tradition and then you will be escorted to a hotel booked previously for night stay. Thereafter you will proceed for an illustrious Mandawa tour in the region. 

The city is well known for its elaborate Havellis or mansions which are decked with typical Rajasthani art thus guests will visit these havellis including Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli and Mandawa Hotel. 

Day04:Mandawa - Jaipur

In the morning relish a delectable meal and then depart for the next destination of Jaipur the Pink City of Rajasthan. At Jaipur guests will be served an overwhelming welcome by our representative who will accompany them to their hotel booked for night stay. At Jaipur rest of the day will be free for a sightseeing tour of the city. Guests will first visit the stunning City Palace and then will drive to a stone observatory of Jantar Mantar which will be followed by a trip to Hawa Mahal. Return to the hotel in the evening for night stay. 

Day 05: At Jaipur

On this day guests will be served a sumptuous meal in the morning which will be followed by a continuing trip to Jaipur as planned under this North India tour. In the morning guests will drive to Amber Fort which is 11 kilometers for Jaipur and is located on a hilltop. Visit the palace while enjoying an elephant ride in the majestic palace complex. In the afternoon visit the colorful markets of Jaipur which are famous for exquisite handicraft items. Conclude the city tour with a visit to Laxmi Narayan Temple and then return to the hotel for night stay. 

Day 06: Jaipur - Agra

On this day guests will proceed towards Agra post breakfast. Our representative will escort you to Agra this journey will provide an opportunity to visit UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fatehpur Sikri which is a picturesque palace built by Akbar. Then resume your journey to Agra where you will be accommodated in a hotel for night stay. At Agra guests will spend the rest of the day at leisure in their hotel. 



Day07: At Agra

At Agra the day will begin with a delectable meal in the morning which then will be followed by a tour of this city. Begin your city tour with a visit to Agra Fort which is one of the greatest Mughal architectural forms. Thereafter visit UNESCO World Heritage Site of Taj Mahal which is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Day 08: Agra - Delhi - Departure
