Bandhavgarh Jungle Safari :- Jungle safari is the prominent attraction of any wildlife tour. Tourists can do jungle safaris in Bandhavgarh national park. In a day, two rounds of safari drivers are allowed inside the core-zone of park. On every Wednesday, park remains closed for evening safari drives. Here in Bandhavgarh, safari area is divided into three safari zones i.e. Tala zone (Gate-1), Magadhi zone(Gate-2) and Khitauli zone (Gate-3). Among them Tala zone is the oldest safari zone and other two zones were opened later due to increase in tourists arrival.Jungle safari in Bandhavgarh is a paid service for which tourists are required to acquire entrance ticket/s in which all visitors name, age, gender, country and identity document details are given. All the visitors are required to carry their original identity document during safari drives as it is verified at the entrance gate. Safari tickets are non-transferable. During safari drive, guide service is compulsory on each safari vehicle. Here safaris are done on open safari jeeps and canters. Maximum 06 person are allowed to sit in a safari jeep and 12 tourists are allowed in a safari canter vehicle.

bandhavgarh park safariEntering for Park Safari
As already mentioned, two safari rounds are offered in a day i.e. morning safari and afternoon safari. Morning safari usually begins 30 minutes before sunrise so tourists are need to wake up early in the morning to reach the entrance gate in time. At park entrance gate, documents of every vehicle is thoroughly verified, matched and then only allowed to enter. Mobile phones are not allowed to carry during safari.

During Park Safari
Once you enter into the Tiger Reserve, follow all the instructions of your naturalist. It is always advisable to keep, all your senses, alert during park safari as in jungle is full of surprises. In forest every tree, insect, animal, bird is special. Always keep your camera on and put your finger over image capturing button as there is no scope for re-take in forest. During park safari, nobody is allowed to dismount safari jeep in any case. In the mid of safari, all the safari jeeps are required to report central-point inside the tiger reserve. At this point, one can have chance for refreshment. It is rest of 15-20 minutes and later proceed for further game drive in Bandhavgarh forest. During park safari you may also notice some man-made cares, rock-shelters etc for photography. Wildlife is driven by their own and don’t try to influence them for sake of wildlife photography.

Bandhavgarh Canter Safari
Bandhavgarh canter safariIn tourism season 2014-15, Madhya Pradesh Forest Department has taken new initiative to introduce canter safari option for tourists. It is a important initiative taken by forest department as getting safari tickets in such a popular tiger reserve is a challenging task for tourists. At the same time Per Vehicle costing system for jeep safari is a costly option for visitors who are less in count but still have to pay for complete vehicle. Canter safari is a big relief to such wildlife lovers. Doing jungle safari on canter is a new concept for Central India national park but not new for India as it is already successfully going on at Ranthambore national park in Rajasthan. Here in Madhya Pradesh, these safari canters are introduced in Bandhavgarh, Kanha national park and Pench national park. It is a open 12-seater bus in which tickets are offered on per person per visit basis. Canter safari booking can be done from ticket booking counter at Bandhavgarh. Online canter safari booking is not allowed for now.
